History

Maxwell Shiffman was a television producer who saw Spider-Man's first exhibition fight against Crusher Hogan and offered to break him into television . He became Spider-Man's show business agent for Spider-Man before J.J. Jameson's anti-Spider-Man campaign forced him to drop Spider-man's contract. He was later duped into assisting Mysterio by an illusion of his late wife returned to life.

Trivia

• In The Spectacular Spider-Man (Animated Series), he is replaced by Sullivan Edwards. This is a pun on Ed Sullivan.
