Agreeing to meet with Nick Fury, the Thing is taken aboard the SHIELD Helicarrier, there he is told that the villains Fixer and Mentallo are seeking him out, although SHIELD has no idea why. However, to prevent anything the two crooks might be up to, they have taken Thing aboard the helicarrier as a safety precaution.
However, this does not stop Mentallo and Fixer, they storm the SHIELD helicarrier and easily incapacitate all the SHIELD agents that offer resistance and capture the Thing. Despite interference from the arriving Nick Fury, they fail to stop Mentallo and the Fixer from accomplishing their goal: Bringing Deathlok to the present.
