A scientist builds a robot to aid him in his thinking and programs it so that it will not stop once it has received an assignment so as not to be distracted by emotion as a human is. When the scientist is informed of an error in his calculations to measure the energy of the sun in his lab, he attempts to reason with the robot that it and everyone else will be destroyed if it completes its task, but it ignores him.
