Synopsis for "Two Is a Crowd"

A man strangles his wife and walls up the body in the basement. The wife's brother and the household servants respond as though the wife is still present. The murderer thinks it must be a plot to get him to confess so he goes to a carnival to establish an alibi and exits the show early. He shoots the wife's brother and returns to carnival but even the barker tells him there is a woman with him and now a man and he flees in panic. Both ghosts strangle the murderer so they may rest in peace.

Synopsis for "Don't Turn Around"

Harry murders an undertaker during a robbery and looks for a place to lie low. He hears about a guy will guarantee a safe hiding place as long as Harry doesn't look at his face. Harry meets the man in the fog and follows his instructions to keep walking through the fog and not turn around. When Harry arrives at the building he gets the feeling that he's been there before and he's told to sit in a chair. Suddenly Harry's arm is jabbed by a needle. When he looks up at the man he sees the undertaker's corpse has begun pumping him full of formaldehyde and points to the casket he promised Harry as the safe hiding place for eternity.

Synopsis for "Grinning Skull"

Roger is in Africa looking for diamonds when he commands one of the natives to decapitate his friend for stealing. Roger threatens to shoot the both of them if the man doesn't comply so he does but puts a voodoo curse on Roger. None of the other natives will assist Roger in his plundering after the decapitation so he returns to America but he begins to see the decapitated head in round objects like clocks. Even closing his eyes and feeling them doesn't help. Roger is placed in a padded cell where the only light bulb transforms into the decapitated head and leers at him.

This story is a swipe of Kuttner's "The Graveyard Rats" with moles substituted for rats at the beginning and rats substituted for the zombie at the climax where the grave robber meets his doom.

A movie producer takes his cast to Frankenstein's castle in order to add atmosphere to his horror film. He gets more than he bargained for when the real monster shows up, slays the actor hired to portray him, and drags the producer to his doom in a pile of quicksand.
