Misspelled Article[]

I'm sorry to bother the administrators however the category MC2 is spelled Catgeory:MC2. 205.188.117.67 00:04, 2 Aug 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)

No trouble at all! We will have a look. Thanks! WikiSysop 13:52, 3 Aug 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)

Category:Marvel characters[]

Could someone merge or redirect Category:Marvel characters to Category:Characters ? 152.163.101.9 02:03, 8 Aug 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)

Another Marvel Resource ?[]

I'm not sure if MD is accepting any other websites however a great Marvel resource, particularly for a timeline project reguarding Marvel history (for example Marvel in 1602), would be Robert Wicks' Unofficial Chronology To The Marvel Universe. 152.163.101.9 02:14, 8 Aug 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)

Chronology[]

I like that chronology site... Have you ever heard of the Marvel Chronology Project? It is revered as being the final word on Marvel timelines... If such a thing is possible... he he he. WikiSysop 12:49, 8 Aug 2005 (Eastern Daylight Time)

Activity[]

Are there any active admin's on this site? Thai420 03:34, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I don't think so, it looks like there's only a few active members. User:Cyberstrike2000x

It would appear to be just you and me, lately anyways. Well do you like the new main page or have any sugestions for it? Thai420 18:17, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

I like it a lot better than the old one, much more organized. Cyberstrike2000x 18:50, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

It's important that we start by making templates for pages, such as individual comics, and character infoboxes. Things will run much smoother when we have one of these. Look at my template for comics as an example, as in Astonishing X-Men 13: Torn, Part 1. Theysangthesolo 00:47, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

All the templates that we have can be found Here. If anybody decides to make any more please put them in the Templates category.Thai420 15:39, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey, i tryed to start up an x-men wikia, but it hasnt got much publicity. i was hoping that we could use some articles from your site and that some of the members of this wikia could help us out a bit. x-men.wikia.com --Worf 18:55, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Featured Article[]

I think it's time to choose a new featured article. Cyberstrike2000x 02:27, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

I was planning on doing it on the 14th. Any suggestions for the next article? Thai420 03:45, 12 August 2006 (UTC)

Wikia Spotlight[]

You might have noticed a new feature called Wikia Spotlight above the ads. We are featuring eight wikis here to see whether this is useful in bringing in new users. The Marvel Universe Wikia is one of the first ones to be shown in this feature, and I'd appreciate your feedback at Wikia:Forum:Wikia Spotlight about whether you think this is useful, and whether it has brought any new users to your wiki. The eight wikis we're trying this with first are World Wikia, Marvel Universe, Halopedia, Cell Phone Enthusiasts, iPod, PokerWiki, The Film Guide, and RuneScapeWiki. New Main Page[]

I redid the main page because the old one gave me a headache, I hope nobody's upset. My only problem with the new page is the Main Page title on the top, does anybody know how to remove it? --Thai420Talk to me! 01:48, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

You can get rid of it by tweaking some of the sitewide settings, but you have to have sysop access. I went ahead and touched up the CSS so the stuff doesn't run together. Cheers! --StBacchus 23:22, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Thanks alot, it looks alot better --Thai420Talk to me! 23:25, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

Interest in a new Wiki?[]

Hye! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a wiki I requested called Alternate Marvel, it is a Fanon wiki. You can create articles about made up superheroes or other characters that live in the Mavel Universe. You can also take already existing characters and give them new stories. Please tell me what you think of this idea and if you'll be interested in joining so it can be created. Darth JCS

Marvel Database[]

Wikia is now hosting marveldatabase.com so I think it would make a lot of sense to try and merge this with marvel.wikia.com. Around the half the page titles here don't yet exist on marveldatabase.com so those can easily be imported. The other half are harder and will require some editorial judgement about which version to keep or whether to manually merge the two. What I propose is that the easy half be moved first. I can automatically import those and then delete them from here. The other half could be moved into a temporary namespace at marveldatabase.com and the communities can get together to work out how best to approach the merge. I'm hoping to get both URLs to continue working so no links will be broken. marveldatabase.com has over 15000 articles, so this content is a great addition to Wikia. I hope this Marvel community will welcome the new one into Wikia. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this. Angela talk 17:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you Angela!
As one of the admins of the Marvel Database, I am very excited to be a part of Wikia. I think this Marvel wiki is great and I very much hope that we can combine our efforts to bring our readers the best Marvel Comics resource on the planet!
I am very much looking forward to doing more work for Wikia.
Best Regards,
--JamieHari 19:25, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Nice to have you aboard. If theres anything I can do to help out with the merge just let me know. --Thai420Talk to me! 07:49, 19 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! I think the best way to start, if we are going ahead with the full merge, then it wouldn't make sense to continue to add new content here, just to move it again later. So, we should probably change the site notice to direct people to the Marvel Database instead.
Second, is to begin moving article content over to the Marvel Database that doesn't currently exist there.
Third, once the bulk of the article contents are moved over, we can move over any images that we don't have.
Lastly, we can have Wikia re-run a query to see what we have missed.
What do you think? Any ideas of how to best proceed?
Cheers!
--JamieHari 18:33, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Sounds good to me. How do we move the pages, just copy and paste and then change the format to conform with the layout you have already? --Thai420Talk to me! 20:46, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
That is probably best. There is also an import/export feature, but might not be appropriate here. Just one note, we have slightly different page-naming conventions. For instance, we don't use (comics) at the end of our pages. We should probably have a look around the database to double check it doesn't exist elsewhere before copy/pasting each page.
I will help move pages over, too! Let me know if you have any problems/questions.
Cheers!
--JamieHari 21:58, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
I think using the import feature will be best for most pages since that will keep the page history. I'll start doing that now. Angela talk 04:48, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

Merge update: pages that didn't exist here have been imported as new articles. Duplicated pages are in a new "merge" namespace and listed at Merge:Index so the community here (and at DC) can choose whether to merge or delete the duplicates. There were a few duplicate project pages and templates that I haven't moved over and I don't know if it's worth doing so. These are Community Portal, introduction, and Help:Contents, and these templates: Stub, Spoiler, Quote, Endspoiler, Disambig, CompactTOC. I also haven't moved any Images or MediaWiki messages. Someone's been screwing around with my userpage[]

While I haven't browsed my own page in a while, someone has taken it upon themselves to add information onto my page without any sort of permission or acknowledgement from me. I'm also unable to edit that page in order to remove it and I'm curious to know if anyone knows why.Jack Hammer 00:06, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Jack, it's not your eyes playing games on you. You have a "User Stub" link on your mainpage. This causes a template link. Someone just recently updated the User Template and it changes for anyone with the links to this template. You can go and edit the page like normal and remove it from the User Stub. This way you and only you will ever see changes (unless you want to keep it linked...) ;) --M1shawhan 00:27, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Alpha, Omega, Beta, Delta, Epsilon[]

I've heard a few of these terms mentioned in a few comics over the past 12 years or so. They're used to categorize mutants, apparently, according to their power levels. I've browsed over the Alpha-level article and according to the article, a key factor in placing mutants into various categories seems to fall more under how much weight they can lift rather than what their overall powers suggest. Is it primarily decided just by physical strength and has Marvel listed a description of the specifications required to be listed under the various categories? Jack Hammer 00:18, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Forum[]

I noticed that Forum:Index was deleted twice in 2009 and 2011 by User:M1shawhan. I asked him about this last week but he hasn't edited for 3 so I'm not sure if I'll get a reply anytime soon.

I am interested in discussing topics pertaining to the wiki as a whole and I am not sure where to do it. Special:Chat which is linked in the top is usually empty. The only place I could find left was this Community Portal. Is there a more preferred place? Like an IRC? +Yc 18:01, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Characters[]

The topic I wanted to bring up, which I may as well here, is I would like to know if there is an agreed-upon policy for Marvel's standards of inclusion for minor characters. Like for example: the peasant girl "Gretchen". Can we include everyone, or are there minimum requirements characters need to fulfill before listed? I kind of wish we could include everyone, to make the database as extensive as possible...

But if not, what is the requirement? A certain number of panel appearances? Being referred to by name? Speaking a certain amount of words? Appearing in a certain number of issues? +Yc 18:03, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
