Marvel Age refers to a line of comic books published in 2004-2005 and intended for younger readers. This imprint replaced the Tsunami line and even inherited the Emma Frost, Runaways, and Sentinel titles from it.
Marvel Age started with a good idea: recruit acclaimed children's' writers to "re-imagine" the earliest adventures of Marvel's most popular heroes. Each issue told a self-contained story, so readers could ignore the decades of continuity that had built up around the original titles. These issues quickly appeared in 5" by 8" (12.5cm by 20cm) bound collections (larger than standard paperbacks but smaller than trade paperbacks).
A year later the Marvel Age line was replaced with the new "Marvel Adventures".
