History
Mantis was strange and empathic being the Guardians encountered in a tomb. After greeting the Guardians in a chipper demeanor she borrowsed Peter's laser gun to blast her stasis pod off a ledge since she saw it as a tomb that tormented her mind for eons.[1]

Powers
- Empathy: Mantis can feel people's emotions just by being near them, such as when she felt uncomfortable due to the negative emotions of the other Guardians of the Galaxy arguing. She can also use her empathy to detect the lies in an interrogation, as she did with Bal-Dinn. More impressively, using her empathy, Mantis is able to know a person's location by entering the mind of another person, as she did with Quill to find the other Guardians across the galaxy.
- Emotion Manipulation: Mantis has the ability to manipulate the emotional state of any person she is in physical contact, she used this ability in combat to defend herself from a Kree enemy, making him feel great sadness.
- Power Absorption: Mantis was capable of absorbing the power of the Forge, which temporarily grants her the power to revive a person, which could be between Kamaria, Lylla, Meredith Quill or Nebula.
- Superhuman Strength: Mantis has a higher level of strength than humans, as she managed to throw a large metal capsule off a cliff with kicks and punches, and she managed to block a Kree's punch with her bare hands.
- Superhuman Durability: Mantis managed to withstand the freezing cold of space with just a helmet covering her face.
- Superhuman Agility: Mantis was able to quickly jump a considerable distance to escape a collapsing building coming towards her.
- Longevity: Mantis was able to survive centuries trapped in a tomb without aging until she was freed by Quill and Gamora.
Abilities
- Marksman: Mantis knows how to operate and use the Quad Blasters, which she can use to shoot a capsule off a cliff.
