Karl Kort shared a similar history to his Prime Universe counterpart. He created a robot and dubbed himself the Wrecker so he could sabotage Bruce Banner's equipment so he could be the one to devise the weaponry. He blamed the destruction on the Hulk, which brought the situation to the attention of the Fantastic Four. When the Foursome arrived, Rick Jones stumbled into Kort's identity and Kort kidnapped him and demand the Hulk help remove the Foursome. Eventually, the Foursome overpowered the Hulk and discovered the Wrecker's machine which the Thing destroyed and Kort was captured.[1]
