Suffering from mental illness and hearing voices, the young woman known only as Kali felt compelled to attack the heroes Rogue and Gambit when they took an impromptu day-trip to Boston to work out their relationship issues away from their teammates. She claimed that the voices in her head told her that Rogue and Gambit had to die in order for her to become a true goddess. The two heroes easily defeated her, and in a fit of rage, she attempted to bring a building down upon them, but Rogue and Gambit easily escaped. She disappeared soon afterwards.[1]
