During the legislation which proposed the enactment of the Mutant Registration Act, two members of the New MutantsSkids and Rusty Collins—were imprisoned for refusing to sign. After this atrocity, the Mutant Liberation Front (MLF), including Strobe, first came on the scene to demand the liberation of the pair. The group tried to free them by force, but this only ended in confusion. During the break-in, Cable tried to intervene and a prison guard accidentally shot Rusty. Skids didn't see any other good options, so she decided to side with the MLF.[2]

Strobe next appeared with an MLF strike force who attempted to break Nasty Boys members Slab and Hairbag out of prison. They succeeded and then set their eyes on destroying the Tucker clinic, however they were thwarted by X-Factor who had been tipped off by MLF member Tempo. With their leader almost being captured, the MLF once more escaped to freedom.[3]

Strobe (Earth-616) 001

Strobe

As the events of the X-Cutioner's Song began to unfold, the MLF found itself collecting an array of ancient relics. The team, including Strobe, split into strike forces to steal the various artifacts that would help wake Apocalypse from his slumber. Later on,[4] the New Mutants, X-Factor and the X-Men discovered the latest MLF base in Dust Bowl, Arkansas. After an intense battle, all members of the MLF were captured and taken into custody. After this, Strobe never made a reappearance.

However, in the wake of M-Day—an event in which a mentally ill Scarlet Witch depowered over most of the mutant population—Strobe was shown to be one of the many who lost her powers.[5]

Powers

Heat/Light Generation: Strobe formerly had the ability to fly, project heat and light blasts capable of blinding, scorching, or melting opponents and objects, and create energy shields.
