John Jameson is the son of J. Jonah Jameson.
John was an astronaut who along with his colleague Paul Stevenson picked up "Promethium X" from a newly discovered asteroid. However, a black alien ooze also entered the shuttle and caused them to crash land, and the Promethium was stolen on orders from the Kingpin. This led to John's father blaming Spider-Man for the theft and for harming his son, although he called off a bounty for Spider-Man's capture after John revealed that the Rhino was present at the scene. John was later kidnapped from his hospital bed by the Shocker, in ransom for the Promethium which had been stolen back from the Kingpin by Spider-Man.
John's discovery of the Promethium X resulted in the creation of Venom.Attributes
