Synopsis for "Losing the Touch!"

Jim Rhodes angrily requests Tony Stark fix the boots of the Iron Man armor after his encounter with the Termite.[1] Tony responds to the tension by suggesting they talk but Rhodes suggests that Tony is to blame for his outbursts and points to the Iron Man-like chest plate that Tony had been working on as a reason before walking out. Morley is angry at Rhodes but Tony suggests they should pity him, explaining that being Iron Man is a much bigger deal to him and he feels threatened.

Meanwhile, Rhodes flies around in the Iron Man armor seeking Termite who has discovered a large underground cavern that he uses as an artist studio by carving statues into the rocks. Iron Man happens upon the chamber after Termite has left and eventually finds him as he bursts from beneath a roadway and causes a collision with a truck carrying liquid oxygen. A fire forces Iron Man to intercede by tossing the tanker high into the air before it explodes.

Later at Circuits Maximus HQ, Tony calls Vision seeking an unspecified favor. He meets Scarlet Witch who produces a mutant neutralizing weapon built by Forge.

Termite shows up at an art exhibition where he has added one of his statues to see how people would react but is confronted there by Iron Man. Iron Man attacks him viciously with disregard for other people's safety and Tony arrives trying to calm Rhodes down before someone is seriously hurt. Scarlet Witch suggests Tony use the mutant neutralizing weapon on Termite before he is killed by Iron Man and he does, although it appears to cause him immense pain. Iron Man is incensed at the intervention and destroys the neutralizing weapons before angrily walking off.
