Synopsis for "Struggle!"

Tony Stark has been sobered up and is in a doctor's office. The doctor urges Stark to quit drinking or he will soon die. Stark is soon back on the streets and is questioned by two policemen. During his questioning, Stark denies that he is an alcoholic. One officer bets Stark $50, that he cannot stay sober until midnight. Stark takes the bet and struggles mightily during the day while maintaining his problem is with his nerves and not with alcohol. Other homeless people, including his future romantic interest Gretl, urge him to drink. He also goes to the apartment of Vic Martinelli who chides Stark for his sad state of affairs. Stark does make it to midnight. He thanks the officer for making him realize his problem is actually with alcohol.
