Synopsis for "Execute Program"

In London, England, a mysterious hooded man sits down at an internet café and uses his laptop to execute an assassination command via remote control. In Sophia, Bulgaria, criminal Andrei Gorlovich returns home. He argues with his wife, then sits down to watch some television. An intruder bursts into his home and burns Gorlovich to death with a powerful energy beam. When police interrogate Andrei's widow, she claims that the assailant was the American "man of iron".

In Manhattan, Iron Man is in the middle of a battle with the Crimson Dynamo. The Dynamo launches a series of cluster bombs at him, but Iron Man's armor easily withstands the explosion. He then fires a high-yield magnetic pulse at Crimson Dynamo that temporarily stops his heart. Iron Man then leans over the fallen villain and uses his repulsors to jump start his heart. The New Avengers arrive on the scene and Captain America is not pleased with Iron Man's tactics. Iron Man ignores Cap's concerns and flies off.

He goes to the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier and meets with Nick Fury and "Dum Dum" Dugan. Nick questions Tony about something called Project Argonaut. Tony plays dumb, claiming he has no idea what Fury is talking about. In truth though, Project Argonaut is one of Stark Industries subcontractor projects.

Back in London, the hooded man targets his next victim, Dennis Kellard. Kellard is boarding an airplane at Charles de Gaulle International Airport. A tracking system zeroes in on him.

Synopsis for "Part II"

While arms dealer Dennis Kellard flies across the North Atlantic on a French passenger jet, a mysterious hooded individual in London executes a command on his laptop. Immediately afterward, something attacks the passenger jet, shearing the cockpit away from the rest of the plane. All of the passengers, including Kellard, are killed.

Meanwhile, Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. receives word of Kellard's death. Although the situation triggers a red flag in his operations, he is currently involved in a surveillance operation against one of Kellard's known associates, the Colombian weapons broker Ara Tanzerian. Fury notes that both men have links to Tony Stark.

A short time later, the super-villain known as Graviton tries to escape from the Raft prison facility. The New Avengers arrive on the scene and engage Graviton in combat. Spider-Man is injured by Graviton's attack, but Iron Man arrives and unleashes an excessive amount of energy from his chest-beam against Graviton. Captain America has to pull Iron Man back less he accidentally (or intentionally) kills him.

That evening, Tony Stark arrives at Avengers Tower for a team meeting. Jessica Drew notes that Tony is twenty-two minutes late; an accusation that Stark vehemently denies. Wolverine takes a couple of verbal shots at Tony and Stark springs into a rage. He is ready to take Wolverine on one-on-one. Tempers cool, but Jessica doesn't understand Tony's sudden aggressive demeanor.

In Cali, Colombia, an assassin approaches the villa of Ara Tanzerian. He massacres Tanzerian's men and slaughters Tanzerian, hanging his corpse between two palm trees. The S.H.I.E.L.D. surveillance team converges on the scene, but they are too late. They witness Iron Man flying away from Tanzerian's villa.

Synopsis for "Part III"

Tony is reviewing recent events while Nick Fury briefs a government group on Stark's agenda. Stark reveals himself spying on the meeting, and to clear his name he goes to jail.

Meanwhile a cloaked figure with a USB enabled pendant activates a program. Tony's armor assembles and flies out of Fort Knox. Just as a cease-fire is called between the U.S. army and a camp of terrorists in Iraq the suit flies in and kills every one of the terrorists. When the suit lands it is revealed the man inside is Tony Stark!

Synopsis for "Part IV"

A secret government star-chamber led by Nick Fury concludes that Iron Man has gone rogue and Tony Stark must take measures to clear his name. Breaking Maya out of prison and seeking advice and help from Sal, they try to isolate what is happening to Tony. The deadly agenda of a mysterious hooded assassin continues to his next target with the Global Peace Summit hanging in the balance as all Hell breaks loose when the Sentry finds Stark.

Synopsis for "Part V"

Iron Man continues to fight the Sentry in the skies over San Francisco. Iron Man has more to worry about though than just the Sentry. He still has to clear his name, and insure that no harm befalls Karim Mahwash Najeeb, the guest speaker at the Global Peace Summit. Iron Man uses the Extremis enhancile to bombard Sentry with a wide range of auditory signals. While his foe is briefly subdued, Iron Man flies off.

At Wembley Stadium in London, Karim Mahwash Najeeb opens the Peace Summit ceremony. In addition to the thousands of people in attendance, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Avengers and the Fantastic Four are on hand to make sure that nothing goes wrong. Iron Man appears in the skies overhead, and the heroes quickly snap to attention. They soon learn however, that their quarry is really just an empty suit of armor flown via remote control (courtesy of Extremis).

The real Tony Stark is in the audience. He locates the assassin who has been taking control of him and nabs him. While struggling with the young man, he discovers that he is the son of Ho Yinsen, the scientist who once saved Tony's life in Afghanistan. The man has been taking control of Tony and using him as his personal weapon to assassinate the man who murdered his father. Before Tony can get any more information out of his however, a S.H.I.E.L.D. sniper targets the man and fires. The son of Yinsen falls to the ground.

Meanwhile, dozens of Iron Man's spare battlesuits suddenly activate.

Synopsis for "Part VI"

The sudden death of the son of Ho Yinsen triggers a pre-programmed protocol inside of five select Iron Man armors; specifically the armors used as part of Tony's Project Argonaut initiative. The Armors go rogue and begin causing widespread devastation across the globe. Tony gets back to his Extremis-enhanced armor and flies off to counter the other armors.

One suit of armor is igniting the Berri oil fields in Saudi Arabia. The Fantastic Four arrive to help the workers and also to prevent the armor from breaching the water table, thus sending tons of oil into the gulf.

In the Pacific Ocean near Guam, the Sub-Mariner is attacked by Tony's aquatic armor. Iron Man arrives and helps the Sub-Mariner out, even though he insists that he could have handled the situation just fine on his own.

Afterward, he coordinates his efforts with Nick Fury who directs him to the sight of the tunneler armor near a nuclear power plant in Moscow. After taking care of that problem, Tony hears about the crisis in Saudi Arabia. He flies there and engages the Stealth Armor. Grabbing it, he flies it high into the atmosphere, where he dismantles the armor as much as possible. Afterward, he relies upon the Human Torch to finish it off.

The largest threat however comes from a new Hulkbuster armor which is creating havoc in Times Square. The New Avengers are present, but are unable to stop the juggernaut on their own. Iron Man flies there and battles with it, but he realizes that each armor is actually controlled by his subconscious. For every action he takes, the armor instinctively knows how to combat it. The only way to stop it is to sever the connection. To accomplish such a thing, Tony Stark has to die. He turns his repulsors against himself and sends a 10,000 volt charge into his heart. With Tony temporarily dead, the opposing armor is rendered inert.

After thirty-seven minutes, a medical crew are actually able to restart Tony's heart, but even this is only made possible due to the neurological effects of the Extremis compound inside his system. As always, Tony is wracked with guilt over the fact that his inventions caused so much turmoil.
