Quote1 You...are Infinity, the personification of the spatial aspect of the universe... Quote2
Quasar[src]

Infinity is an abstract entity which embodies the Marvel Universe itself along with her "brother" counterpart, Eternity, with whom Infinity is one.[1] Their authority on Earth-616 is only surpassed by the Living Tribunal.[2] Infinity is also the personification of space.[3][4]

History

Infinity (Earth-616), Oblivion (Earth-616), Wendell Vaughn (Earth-616), and Maelstrom (Earth-616) from Quasar Vol 1 25 001

Battling Oblivion

Infinity is the sister of Eternity. As Eternity's counterpart is Death, Infinity's counterpart is Oblivion. She appeared to Quasar when he entered his Quantum Bands into the Quantum Zone. It was revealed that Infinity is the source of Quasar's Quantum Bands. When Maelstrom as the avatar of Oblivion attempted to destroy the universe, Quasar stopped him by becoming the avatar of Infinity.[5]

Powers

Unlimited ability to manipulate time, space, matter, energy, reality, or magic for any purpose. Omnipresent throughout Earth-616. Nigh-omniscient. Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet, ranked Infinity as standing above all abstract entities, such as Mistress Love, Master Order, Lord Chaos, Sire Hate, Galactus, One Above All (Celestial), Kronos, Odin, Zeus, and Stranger, as well as being equal to Eternity, but below Living Tribunal.[6]

Notes

  • Infinity is sometimes confused for the personification of time.[7][8] This is not correct because, despite his starry body, Eternity is the temporal aspect.[9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16] Also, Infinity is identified as the spatial aspect in her very first appearance.[3]
    • The word "Eternity" means endless time, while "Infinity" has a more spatial connotation.
