History
Igor Stancheck, aka the Radioactive Man, was a member of the Winter Guard, Russia's official superhero team. At some point, Radioactive Man was captured by Hydra and placed in a radioactive proof capsule, rendering him incapable of escape. After S.H.I.E.L.D. took the capsule from Hydra in battle, the Winter Guard went against their superiors' orders and stole it from them, fearing that Igor would be used as a weapon.
Crimson Dynamo had obtained the key to the capsule so that the Winter Guard could free him. When the destabilized Russian facility threatened a nearby village and the Avengers worked with the Winter Guard to save the village, Crimson Dynamo and Falcon freed Radioactive Man, who then charged up from Hulk's gamma energy and dissolved the facility.[1]Trivia
