Origin
Origin
Pym discovered a rare group of subatomic particles, which have become known as the "Pym particles." Pym was able, though the application of magnetic fields, to entrap the particles within a serum. Pym tested the reducing serum on himself and discovered it was more powerful than he had expected: it reduced him to the size of an insect. Pym next developed a series of capsules containing the Pym particles which he used to grow or shrink to various heights, he also developed capsules that enabled him to grow to greater than normal heights. Thereafter, Pym preferred to use his power to grow to giant size for crimefighting, and called himself Giant-Man.

History

Little is detailed about Giant-Man’s life before the zombie plague arrived on Earth-2149, however it can be presumed that it followed much the same path as Giant-Man (Earth-616).

At some point he is infected by his wife Janet van Dyne, but he realises what is happening before he completely zombifies. Figuring that all the available food would be eaten within a few days, he lures Black Panther back to his lab. On the way, Black Panther realises what is happening, but Pym increases in size and swats him unconscious, taking him back to the lab anyway, securing him to a workbench.

Eventually, he turns and makes his way to Avengers Mansion, only to find them munching on the carcass of Jarvis.

Attacking Castle Von Doom

For some reason, when Beast and Reed Richards find a sizeable stash of meat in Latveria and the surrounding area, Pym decides to go in his Yellowjacket costume. So he, and a huge horde of zombies head off to lay siege to Castle Doomstadt.

Unable to gain access to the fortress, presumably, Pym gets held up by the risen Deadite Legion, and at some point returns to New York (and to his Giant Man persona), and becomes one of the Zombie Galacti.

After travelling through the cosmos, devouring planets as they go, the Zombie Galacti arrive at the Skrull home planet. During the journey, it appears that Cage and Iron Man have developed some kind of bickering relationship, though the tension is quickly broken when Spidey collides face first with a force field.

Wolverine, rips through the defensive field with his claws, and the Galacti squeeze through. Like many of the civilisations before, the Skrulls try to defend themselves by firing missiles at them, but the zombified heroes destroy them easily with the Power Cosmic.

They comment that they are quite weak, as travelling though the barren spaces in between systems, they sustain themselves by feeding off the Power Cosmic, but now need to recharge.

On reaching the planet surface Tony and Luke first come across some kind of bug, and they attack that, then turn to gorge on the Skrull populace, while Henry breaks open the circling warships and pours the inhabitants into his mouth. Hulk says that he is still hungry, and Cage tells him that he’s a zombie; that he’ll always be hungry. Hulk obviously doesn’t take kindly to this over-simplification, and punches Cage far into the sky. Iron Man tries to placate Hulk with an offered Skrull leg, but Hulk has something to say that only Banner could explain.

With most of the Skrulls on the ground devoured, the Zombie Galacti, concentrate on the Skrull Warships circling them, Pym tipping ship after ship into his mouth like popcorn from a box.

Cage finally rejoins the rest of the Zombie Galacti, where they quickly return to bickering and arguing. Stark loses his temper and tries to blast Cage with a bolt of Power Cosmic, but it has no effect on a similarly powered being. Luke simply walks up to Stark and punches him high through the air.

With Ironman now absent, Cage takes opportunity of the peace and quiet to tell the others of his discovery of a possible way to get to another Earth, much to their delight.

They confront the New Fantastic Four in a crashed Skrull ship, and demand that they hand over the Transdimensional device that they have been using, the Zombie Galacti get into an argument about what they have become again, and the Fantastic Four use the distraction to escape.

Wolverine decides instead to search the Skrull ship for any injured Skrulls to snack on, but only comes across Thanos, and his mistress Death. They offer the Zombies a reward for their destruction; an end to their undeadness. Though Spider-Man discovers that they are far from what they seem. As the projections of Thanos and Death disappear, the two Skrulls beneath beg for their lives.

With the last of the Skrulls eaten, the Zombie Galacti decide to explore the Galactus element to their powers, and begin to consume the planet, eventually being left floating in space.

40 Years Later

After 40 years of floating in space, along with the other zombies, Giant-Man and the others (with new cybernetic parts replacing any lost limbs) have eaten almost every living thing in the universe. After realizing they are still hungry, they decide to return to Earth to find Reed Richard's dimensional portal and go to another dimension with people to eat.

The zombies manage to return to Earth (after eating Ego the Living Planet and floating on for a few weeks) and discover a race of survivors, led by an aging Black Panther. The Hulk begins on a rampage, until being stopped by Giant-Man, who suggests they start up a breeding program to have human food for eternity. However, Spidey blasts off the top of Giant-Man's head. Giant-Man then orders him to be killed, but Luke Cage, a zombified Black Panther, Wasp (with a new cybernetic body), and Spidey fend off Wolverine long enough for a force field to be raised, sealing all the other zombies out of New Wakanda, but sealing Gladiator and Bruce Banner in and tearing Luke Cage in half. After a brief battle with Gladiator resulting in Spidey being nearly torn in half, Spidey and Cage blast Gladiator's head apart, the other zombies depart to the Baxter Building.

After the zombies return to New Wakanda, they find Spidey, Cage, Wasp, Panther, and Hawkeye (also with a new body) waiting for them. They strike a truce: no eating the people for the dimensional portal. However, after the field is shut down, the "good" zombies attack the others. The field is reactivated immediately, but Iron Man gets through, only to be confronted by Forge (in Iron Man's Mark I suit), Colonel America, and the Acolytes, led by Malcolm Cortez. During the battle, Spidey's suit is partially burned off at the face and the chest, Wasp is crushed by Giant-Man, and Panther is almost entirely crushed by Giant-Man. However, during the battle, Banner awakens and tries to devour Reynolds to keep the Hulk under control, but accidentally deactivates the field. The other zombies attempt to devour other human survivors in a safe room, but as Giant-Man prepares to eat Panther's wife, he realizes his hunger is gone. Giant Man manages to convince the others that their hunger is gone and they could become heroes again.

Shortly after the other zombies realize their hunger is gone, the Hulk bursts into the room, threatening to devour everyone. He manages to devour Reynolds, who was distraught after Wasp's apparent death. After a hectic fight, which results in the deaths of Phoenix, Hawkeye, Firelord, and Iron Man, the Hulk reverts back to Banner, begging to be killed. Spidey, Wolverine, and Giant Man comply with his request and blow his head apart. After doing a cleanup, where they find Wasp's head, and performing a funeral for the fallen heroes, they realize the gene pool isn't adequate enough to keep humanity alive after a few generations. After a meeting where they decide to send people to another dimension for supplies and food, Malcolm Cortez demands that he likes this lifestyle and that he will get rid of the zombie threat. Cortez manages to activate the newly repaired dimensional portal, sending Giant-Man, Cage, Wasp, Colonel America, Spider-Man, Panther, and Wolverine to another dimension.

Powers and Abilities

Powers

The growth process required the rapid acquisition of bodily mass, presumably from an extradimensional source. This extradimensional mass fortified all of his cellular tissue, including his bones and muscles, enabling him to support his increased weight, and giving him superhuman strength.

Continuous exposure to Pym Particles over an extended period of time enabled Pym to generate his reducing and expanding fields spontaneously, without exposure to a new quantity of Pym Particles. Hence, Pym could increase or decrease his size simply by will power.

  • The Power Cosmic: The Zombie Galacti each possess a share of the Power Cosmic which was granted to Silver Surfer by Galactus. They have the ability to absorb and tap ambient cosmic energy into their bodies at will, and expel those energies violently, or in more subtle ways. They can channel beams of energy through their hands with great destructive force. Presumably, other uses of their Power Cosmic include the ability to phase through objects, accelerate the evolution of lifeforms, see the past by peeling back the layers of time, time travel, trans dimensional travel, the manipulation/absorbtion and discharge of any form of energy or radiation, though the only other use of power cosmic that is seen is teleportation through hyperspace. The distances which they can teleport is almost limitless.

Essentially, the Power Cosmic gives the Zombie Galacti mastery over the four fundamental forces of the universe:

  • Electro-magnetism
  • Manipulation of Gravity
  • Ability to store and discharge nuclear force (Stong/Weak Force).

    Abilities

Dr. Henry Pym is one of the world's foremost biochemists and also possesses considerable expertise in subatomic physics and robotics.

Strength level

At giant size as Giant-Man, Pym's strength varied according to the height he achieved: at 10 feet tall, Pym could lift (press) 1000 pounds, at 25 feet tall he could lift (press) 10 tons, and at 100 feet tall, Pym could lift (press) 50 tons. The higher Pym grew past 25 feet, the more of his strength he had to use simply to support his own enormous mass.

Paraphernalia

Equipment

A lab in which he can keep the uninfected alive, or create weapons, given the resources.

Notes

Goofs

A zombified version of Pym was shown in his Yellowjacket costume in

Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness #5.
