The Lord God has heard my prayer, and has shown me a vision. [...] God willing, I believe salvation lies in the Terrigen Mists.
- —Henry McCoy[src]
History
As opposed to his Earth-616 counterpart's devotion to science, this Beast instead put his faith in God. Desperate to reverse M-Day, Beast was affected by divine visions he interpreted as a sign that the last hope for mutantkind lay in the Terrigen Mists, and sought audience with the Inhumans.
They offered him their condolences, but he was denied the access to the mists by Medusa, who stated that the mists would only bring mutants pain, leaving him devastated.
One of his counterpart and Doctor Strange witnessed this scene, in astral form, and see him again praying later for the salvation of his species.[2]Attributes

Notes
- Beast wasn't named "Pope Beast" in the issue, but by Marvel Appendix writers.[3]
- On Earth-616 the Terrigen Mist proved itself capable of reversing the effects of M-Day, but more often than not resulted in devastating side-effects for the mutants exposed to it, implying that Beast's vision held some truth, but that Medusa was right to reject his request.[4] [5]
