History
Like his counterpart on Earth-616, Heimdall is the guardian of the Bifrost Bridge and one of the most valiant and faithful warriors of Asgard. Odin had decreed Loki would remain imprisoned in a tree until another Asgardian would weep a tear for him. Heimdall accidentally freed Loki from his imprisonment when he passed under the tree and a falling leaf stroke Heimdall in the eye, shedding the required tear.
Feeling guilty for having freed Loki, along with the Warriors Three, he goes in search of Mjolnir. When they found it, they had to come to terms with a dragon put on guard by Loki, and after defeating him, they brought back Mjolnir, even in the form of stick, to Asgard.[citation needed]Attributes
