History

Hatch-22 is a human from the 'sixth era of man', a period millions of years in the future, where humanity has evolved into beings with incredible psychic powers and who live in underground 'hatches' beneath the Earth. In his own time, he apparently defended Earth from an aggressive planet-sized being.

He was accidentally brought back in time during a struggle between Black Panther and Princess Zanda for control of one of the time machines known as King Solomon's Frogs. Furious at being removed from his 'hatch' and taken from his proper time, he attacked Zanda's soldiers with his various mental powers, disintegrating one of them with a micron beam from the third eye in the back of his head. By approaching him peacefully, Black Panther was able to trick him into lowering is guard, however, and knocked him unconscious with a punch.

While unconscious, Hatch-22 began emanating some sort of ectoplasm, creating visions of his dreams. This allowed Black Panther to learn of his origin, and the Panther resolved to return him to his proper time before he could cause any more trouble. Needing both of King Solomon's Frogs to return Hatch-22, Panther transported the future human to King Solomon's Tomb. There, Hatch-22 began to awaken, and once again began to attack the people he blamed for his predicament. Unintentionally, Hatch-22 saved Black Panther's life by disintegrating one of the tomb's guardians, giving Panther enough time to find the second Frog and return Hatch-22 to his original time and world.

Attributes

Powers

All of Hatch-22's powers are psionic in nature, and are presumably common to all humanoids from the 6th Era of Man.

Weaknesses

Hatch-22's enlarged cranium makes for a highly visible target. Although he may be aware of an attacker's presence by way of his "third eye", a sufficient blow to the head will easily render him unconscious.
