Synopsis for "Stileto"
The text follows the activities of Cobra Island's Dr Mindbender and his plan to send a former Strato-Viper, now turned into a Star-Viper, to a military base in Utah that he suspects to be the G.I. Joe shuttle launch site. However, a B.A.T. with a spy camera installed by Fred VII overhears Mindbender's plans and informs the Baroness. The situation worries her as Serpentor is making his move for command, but Fred calms her down with a kiss. The next day, the Star Viper, disguised as a trucker, is left in Utah, and a B.A.T. drives away, instructing it to drive back and forth on the highway twice a day.
Meanwhile, on Cobra Island, Croc Master discovers cooking fires that have been appearing in the swamp for months but never finds out who makes them. He decides not to inform his superiors as he believes it poses no harm to them.
At the military base, new Joes, Wildcard, Windmill, and Skidmark, are given a tour and shown the ultimate black box, a receiver/decoder/data-link that can read every signal from every U.S. spy satellite, by Mainframe. The Star Viper eavesdrops on their conversation and later steals the black box. The Joes pursue him, but the Star Viper escapes by jumping into the truck driven by the B.A.T.
The Joes realize that the Star Viper is a member of Cobra, and Flint reveals that the black box has an undetectable anti-tampering mechanism that, if forced, will blow up through fifty square feet. Despite this, he knows that the Pentagon will not be happy about their expensive toy going missing. The story concludes with the Joes still on the lookout for Cobra's next move.
