History
Five years into waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle set his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After slaughtering most of the mob bosses in New York, Frank chased Russoti to a recycling plant. There, he threw him into a glass crushing machine.
Billy was left for dead by Castle, horribly disfigured. Under his new alias, Jigsaw, he set out for vengeance. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw had recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished. Frank defeated Jigsaw's army and eventually Jigsaw himself.[1]Attributes
Abilities
Seemingly those of the Frank Castle of Earth-616.
Peak Human Conditioning: The Punisher has no superpowers. However, Frank Castle has benefited from multidisciplinary military training in the United States Marine Corps, and has trained with both the US Army and the US Navy. Frank Castle has been trained not only in basic infantry techniques, but also in special operations (unconventional warfare). He is therefore proficient in the use and maintenance of a vast arsenal of firearms, as well as specialized weapons and explosives. He has expertise in infiltration techniques within enemy territories or structures under heavy surveillance, with the aim of killing, capturing or spying on the adversary. Furthermore, he also masters camouflage and concealment techniques. He is also an expert in interrogation techniques, particularly torture. Thanks to his training with the US Air Force, he is able to design and maintain his own parachuting equipment and masters his parachute landings, whether by day or night. Thanks to his training with the US Navy, he has undergone submarine operations training, including demolition training. He trained with the SEALs, the Underwater Demolition Team (UDT) and the Long-range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRPA). As a result, he masters a wide range of explosives, from simple dynamite to plastic and improvised explosives. Because of his training, his unarmed combat skills are often sufficient to enable him to disable or even kill individuals far more physically robust than himself. He can even take on groups of opponents, armed or unarmed, and kill them with his own hands if he deems it necessary. His training includes Nash Ryu ju-jitsu (a martial art style developed by his sensei, Adam Nash), ninjutsu, shorin-ryu, hwarangdo and chin-na. He is also an expert in the use of daggers and other bladed weapons, with a marked preference for the Ka-Bar, which he learned to use with the USMC; he is also a born marksman, both with a rifle and a throwing dagger (he is ambidextrous in dagger combat). As a result of his military training, he has a good medical background, particularly in the field of war medicine, and can treat light to moderate wounds received in combat on his own.
Peak Human Strength: Castle has conditioned himself to the pinnacle of human conditioning. As a result, he's a very strong man with great physical strength, stronger than the average man, able to crush a man's face, lift a grown man off the ground, use his revolver and rifle with great grip strength and dominate his opponents with nothing but his brute force. He is also capable of carrying heavy equipment, including body armour, large calibre weapons, explosives, knives and heavy-duty standard military clothing.
Peak Human Durability: Castle has great physical resistance to damage, thanks to his large frame, muscular build and bone structure, enabling him to carry heavy equipment on missions without being hindered or encumbered in any way and remain agile. He can also stand up and continue to function normally, and even keep going after being shot at and hit by enemies. What's more, he doesn't seem to condone injury or trauma of any kind in return for a perilous mission, and seems to be as well as ever, whatever the circumstances.
Peak Human Stamina: Thanks to his military background, Castle has a high tolerance for mental and physical fatigue, enabling him to stay active and engage in challenging physical activities and journeys throughout his crime-fighting career without appearing tired or worn out. He once fought a building full of armed men and an intense battle ensued, during which he was hit in sensitive areas of the body and received numerous bullets.
