Synopsis for 1st story

While Simon Pooni and his friend Chris watching the film Superior 5, Abraxas prepared to kill Susie Lee, moments before Superior intervened and seemingly defeated him. Abraxas activated the Annihilator, which had previously destroyed Superior's home planet. During and after the film, Chris expressed his disinterest in "old superheroes" and his belief that Superior was "too much of a Boy Scout for people these days." While walking down the street, Simon and Chris were briefly harassed by a bully named Sharpie and his friends before Simon's mom intervened.

In a flashback, Simon, who was once a talented basketball player, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. That night, Simon was woken up by a space monkey named Ormon and transformed into the superhero Superior, even resembling the actor Tad Scott.

Simon's mother notified the police after he had been gone for one day, believing that he had run away. When a detective heard a sound coming from his room, Simon, now Superior, flew through the roof. As Superior, Simon visited Chris, who had learned of his disappearance, in his apartment and asked for help.
