History

While searching for his missing father, Sam fell off his skateboard and hit his head. When he woke he discovered Gamora and Rocket Raccoon standing over his hospital bed. They too were searching for Jesse. After discovering Jesse's helmet, S.H.I.E.L.D. Trainees and Guardians of the Galaxy began to teach Sam how to use a Nova helmet.

In Washington D.C., Sam asked an ally for help in defeating clones of heroes turned evil.

At some point later, after fighting alongside the Avengers for a while, Samuel swaps the yellow helmet for the black one and enters the Champions.
