History

The Mantron was built to the pinnacle of Earth date 1996 technology, and eventually jettisoned by his makers. Mantron worked at an intergalactic fueling station Earfk pumping gas until he met Groot and joined him in his mission to rescue Rocket Raccoon from the Bounty Hunter Eris.[1]

During the rescue, Mantron met and fell in love with Eris's robot crewman A.P.E., turning them to Groot's side. Facing defeat, Eris triggered some explosives in order to take out Groot and his allies. Mantron sacrificed himself by grabbing Eris and her explosives and flying out of the spaceship where they could safely detonate away from his allies. Mantron may not be completely gone though as Numinus handed A.P.E. a floppy disk labeled MANTRON BACKUP.DOS.[2]
