History
Prototype, like Domino, was one of the test subjects of the Project Armageddon, where from childhood he met Topaz, the daughter of one of the project's scientists, with whom he began a romantic relationship that lasted until the end of his days.[1]
For some unknown reason Desmond had a connection to Domino's powers, in that any time Domino used her luck powers, it caused Desmond serious physical and mental suffering. Understandably, Desmond, with the help of Topaz, sought to end Domino's life.[2]
Finally, Desmond passed away, due to strong blows received by the Outlaw, who disfigured his face as Desmond used his teleportation powers. Desmond, before dying, asked Topaz to end Domino's life to pay for all the suffering they had experienced as a result of the use of her powers and their connection of an unknown nature.[3][2]Personality

Desmond in some unknown way was affected by the use of Domino's mutant powers, which is why, when Domino had good luck, Desmond's body was severely damaged. When Domino's powers began to fail, Desmond's physical condition began to improve.[1]

Due to his mutant powers being activated since childhood, it is understood that he was one of the few mutants who retained his powers after M-day.
