History
Aurora Dante is a maternal half-sister of Bobby Drake (a.k.a. the superhero Iceman). Like him, she is also a mutant.[1]
At some point she chose codename Lightwave for herself and became an agent of the S.H.I.E.L.D.. She fell under the mind control of another agent, Buzz Mason. Mason forced her to steal assorted devices to create a "quantum enhancer" which would increase her powers 1,000 times and allow Lightwave to control the Guardstar satellite on the Earth Orbit. This satellite was controlling all defense and communications systems for the United States, so with it Mason would be able to control the States and conquer the world.[1]
Iceman, Firestar, and Spider-Man noticed Lightwave during one of her crimes, and tried to stop her, but Iceman allowed her to escape. Buzz Mason then contacted them and convinced Firestar and Spider-Man that Aurora was a rogue agent and the true criminal. Iceman, however, hadn't believed it and soon learned the truth. When Iceman was almost killed by Mason, it helped Aurora to free herself from the mind control to save her brother and together they defeated Mason.[1]
Mason was arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D and Aurora's name was presumably completely cleared.[1]Attributes
Powers
Light Manipulation: Lightwave is a mutant with power to control light.[1]
- Light Generation: She can concentrate light into powerful lasers.[1]

- Force Field: She can create photon force fields to trap her enemies; even Spider-Man and Firestar were unable to break out of the field. Aurora can also use these force fields to protect herself and survive in the vacuum of outer space.[1]
