Secret Invasion The Amazing Spider-Man Vol 1 3 Textless
Jackpot is a term usually synonymous with good fortunes. But in the world of superheroes its synonymous with tragedy befalling all those whom took upon the name. The first Jackpot, is nowhere to be found and the second, met her demise under it's moniker. But as the old saying goes, the third time's the charm.

Armed with the enigmatic Jackpot Bracelet, forged in a time of dire need whilst stranded in an alternate universe, Mary Jane found herself endowed with powers beyond imagination. From that moment on, her focus shifted to safeguarding her newfound family, both in the alternate universe and afterwards the main one. But tragedy struck, as her children were erased from existence by Benjamin Rabin and the devastation of the loss threatened to consume her. Enter Felicia Hardy, the crafty Black Cat, whose friendship and encouragement stirred Mary Jane's dormant heroism. Jackpot emerged from that conversation as a beacon of hope for the city she loves and her intent to help others the way she'd helped her children. Her journey to understanding the true meaning of "Great Power and Great Responsibility" from the heroes perspective mirroring that of another famous web-slinger. Her life unintentionally mirroring the lesson he once tried to teach the first Jackpot.

"You say you don't want the responsibility? Guess what? People like us...we don't get a choice."

Her original Jackpot Bracelet which utilized the powers of symbols to randomly generate a power for the user varying from useful, to useless, has since been upgraded prior to her venture into the world of superheroism. From her survival in an alternate universe she was unaware if she'd ever return from, to her heart-wrenching losses after to her return to the present, Jackpot stands as a symbol of resilience and triumph over adversity, showing that even in the darkest times, a beacon of light can emerge to protect the innocent and bring justice to the city's darkest corners.

"How did I get here? I used to think it was a complicated question. But it's not. My kids were real dammit. I loved them, and they needed my help. So I helped them. And I'm going to help other people too. And that's where I've got an advantage. Peter has said it for years. And now I think I finally understand... with great power there must also come great responsibility. Face it, New York City, you just hit the Jackpot!" - Mary Jane Watson
