History
The Abilisks were created by the High Evolutionary and only fed on batteries.[1] The Guardians of the Galaxy were hired by the Sovereign to kill an abilisk that was going to destroy the Sovereign's anulax batteries. The Guardians fought the abilisk on the Sovereign's home planet, Sovereign, with Gamora delivering the final blow.[2]
During the Guardians' battle against the High Evolutionary, Mantis befriended a trio of Abilisks and once the battle was over she decided to go on a journey with them.[2]Powers and Abilities
Powers
- Durability: The abilisks' hide proved to be highly resistant to attacks both from the inside and outside. It was only defeated when Gamora sliced through a pre-existing cut.[2]
- Energy Beams: Abilisks can fire beams of energy from their mouths.[2]
- Interdimensional Travel: The abilisk faced by the Guardians of the Galaxy was said to be interdimensional.[2]
