Ferdinand Jones was a spy for the Nazis who was active during World War II. By the spring of 1943, he had infiltrated an American army base as a new recruit. His mission was to ruin morale and discourage potential recruits from enlisting in the army by putting irritants in the uniforms of those in his squad.

While his squad was taken out on patrol by Sargent Dix, their skin became so irritated they drew blisters, making Dix wonder what could have happened. Suspecting foul play, he told the story to his colleague Maloney, who was secretly a member of the 5-2 military secret police. Maloney investigated the Quarter Masters Crops room where uniforms were stored. There, he found the bottle of irritant in Jones' locker. Jones happened to walk in and catching Maloney snooping in his locker shot him in the back.

While attempting to dispose of Maloney's corpse, Ferdinand was spotted by Dix who gave him chase across the base. Dix managed to knock him out and turn him over to the military police and his true motives were revealed.[1]

His subsequent fate is unknown.
