History

In 1492, King Ferdinand "the Catholic" conquered the last caliphate of Spain, Granada, and reunited Spain as a country. That same year, along with his wife Isabella, he issued the Alhambra Decree, expelling all Jews and Muslims from Spain.

Many converted, but Ferdinand, suspicious that they were not sincere in their faith change, set up the Inquisition.
