Strange Tales Vol 1 89 001
Fin Fang Foom is deliberately awakened from his slumber in a tomb by teenager Chen Liuchow, whose homeland is under threat from the Communist Chinese. Liuchow taunts Foom with the threat of the sleep herb, goading the dragon into chasing him, and leads him straight into the Communist camp, which Foom decimates. Liuchow subsequently leads Fin Fang Foom back into his tomb, where the application of the herb returns Foom to his sleep.

A sadistic jailer buys a book detailing an alien civilization that has retreated below the Earth, in order to avoid surface climate change, to torment his prisoner with false hope of escape. The prisoner finds the book and believes the story, and later he finds a working digger to bring him down to the aliens below, who welcome him. The astonished jailer spends the rest of his life unsuccessfully attempting to locate another working digger.

Synopsis for "Orogo! The Nightmare from Outer Space!"Edit

This story is reprinted from Journey into Mystery #57.

Orogo, a robot from another galaxy, lands on Earth planning to enslave humanity using mass hypnosis. Its plan is going swimmingly until it meets an old man and finds out he's immune. Orogo increases its power so much that it destroys itself. It turns out that the old man is completely blind.
