Synopsis for "The Mad Thinker and his Androids of Death!"Edit

Once again trying to gain control of the Baxter Building, the Mad Thinker has created android duplicates of the Fantastic Four who are sent out to attack and capture the other members of the group. While Ben is knocked out at the Baxter Building itself, Johnny and Sue are subdued and replaced by their android counterparts in public.

When Reed is attacked by the android version of himself, he manages to defeat it and pose as it, enabling Reed to get back into the Baxter building and free Ben. The two heroes then bust up the Thinker's androids and capture the Thinker himself. After turning the Thinker over to the police, Reed and Ben locate the sedated Sue and Johnny at the Thinker's hideout and revive them.

Continuity Notes

  • The Mad Thinker last clashed with the Fantastic Four in Fantastic Four #68-71 when he turned the Thing against the FF. Prior to this story he broke out of prison and discovered that the Human Torch was still in his possession, as seen in Avengers: Forever #8, then used the Torch's body to enslave the Torch's old partner Toro as seen in Sub-Mariner #14. This was part of a larger scheme by the Thinker, Egghead and the Puppet Master in a failed bid to take over the world, which was foiled by the Avengers in Avengers #63-64. After this story he teams-up with the Puppet Master again to attack the Fantastic Four with android/puppet hybrids in Fantastic Four #100.
