History
The two-year-old child of loving parents,[3] Edward "Eddie" Price[1] enjoyed using a nightlight to sleep, playing with his father (who suggested using monsters action figures to fight each other, good monsters versus bad monsters) and watching TV.[3]
Price allowed to watch Godzilla meets the Brady Bunch special on TV, which her mother believed had caused him to cry; his father instead thought the problem was an stomach ache. The debate and the wailing were both interrupted by a slight earthquake. The tremor affected their neighbor's house, damaging a painting they were using to control two demons, Gart and Rath, that had been summoned to satisfy their greed. The demons, released, altered the reality, blocking sunlight and destroying buildings.[3]
Identifying the event as a crisis, the mysterious Uni-Power, a sentient energy field, chose young Edward as his champions due to his potential for heroism, and endowed him with the powers, memories and uniform of Captain Universe - but not altering his personality.[3] Price had been explicitly chosen to end the menace of demons Gart and Rath.[4] Price flew to take care of the problem but, hearing his parents say that it wasn't safe outside, he took a moment to protect them - by creating a giant crib.[3]
Taking an idea of previous games with his father, Price/Captain Universe decided to confront giant monsters with other giant monsters, created from two of his toys (gorilla Kongo and dinosaur/dragon Gorga). Although Price's monsters were succesfully beating the demons, the humans were too scared of the disaster, and Price's limited understanding had a hard time seeing why. He finally decided that they were scared of dark and generated a blinding flash that also made the demons -who were trying to reach Price- disappear.[3]
Without the monsters, the fear disappared and people turned back to normal. The Uni-Power left Price, allowing him to go back to his crib. His parents received him with open arms and a sense of pride they could not really express; and young Eddie asked for another ride of whatever had happened.[3]Attributes
