History
In a violent world without superheroes, Frank Castle sought to punish criminals by any means necessary as revenge for the murder of his family, and Nick Fury battled against Hydra in the Cold War.[1]
When Earth-200111 was destroyed by an incursion, God Emperor Doom salvaged its remnants and turned them into the Far East domain of his patchwork planet Battleworld.[2]Residents
- Nick Fury
- Punisher (Frank Castle)
- Foolkiller (Mike Trace)
- Fantomex (Charlie Cluster-7)
- Wolverine (Logan)
- Phantom Eagle (Karl Kaufmann)
Notes
- While Fury (Vol. 2) was intended to be an alternate reality story from the beginning, Punisher (Vol. 7) was originally considered part of Earth-616's continuity. It served as a loose sequel to Punisher (Vol. 6) and had minor references to its events through the appearances of characters such as Yorkie Mitchell and Jen Cooke. The events of the In the Beginning arc are directly mentioned in Marvel Encyclopedia #Marvel Knights, Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Book of the Dead 2004 #1 and Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe: Marvel Knights 2005 #1, but they were omitted from the updated profiles of the Punisher and Microchip due to the decision to place the Punisher MAX stories in another reality independent from the mainstream Marvel Universe; it was numbered Earth-200111 in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #5.
- Like Punisher (Vol. 7), the aforementioned handbooks also made references to Born. The difference is that it was not completely removed from Earth-616: the Valley Forge massacre is mentioned in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #9, which was published after Earth-200111 was designated, and in the in-universe files in Civil War Files #1, meaning that similar events also occurred on Earth-616. From Earth-616's perspective, they took place in Sin-Cong instead of Vietnam, and the mysterious voice that spoke to Frank was Olivier's.
- The only superhumans known to exist in this world are Logan, Victor Creed, and possibly Suzie Fisher.
- All-New, All-Different Marvel Universe notes War Is Hell: The First Flight of the Phantom Eagle to be either "Reality-200111 or variant."
Trivia
- Many Marvel characters appear to be fictional in this universe. In Foolkiller, the Spider-Man films, presumably the ones directed by Sam Raimi, are referenced in conversation, and issues of Man-Thing and Omega the Unknown can be seen in a pawn shop. Additionally, a Spider-Man plush toy appears in the background of Punisher Max: Happy Ending #1. Mike Trace also exists as the star of an "obscure, ultra-violent comic" in Earth-616.[3]
