An attack jet designed and built by Cybertek. Three of these were used in an attempt to capture Cybertek rogue cyborg Deathlok in Coney Island, but Deathlok damaged those and impounded one of them for his personal use, first to travel immediately to South American country Estrella, and after that mission and some refitting, for other operations. Deathlok keeps his Dragonfly hidden near his Coney Island base of operations.

Cybertek System was a Roxxon Oil Corporation subsidiary based in in Paterson, New Jersey. Cybertek dealt in applied cybernetics, including the development of state-of-the-art weapons with military use. Cybertek developed a cyborg super-soldier "Deathlok" with a human brain to use it against the guerrillas in Estrella, a South American country, but the brain of the unwilling donor, Michael Collins, took control over the cyborg and, morally disagreeing with the use he was having, escaped from Cybertek. Cybertek wanted to recover the cyborg and they eventually discovered Collins was hiding in the amusement park in Coney Island. Cybertek head Harlan Ryker then sent independent contractor Ian Wajler (a superhuman technopath also called Mainframe) to capture Deathlok, providing Mainframe with a number of Cybertek weapons to use: Three Dragonfly jets docked in the SQ 1 Deep Sea Attack Craft, a team of agents equipped with Terminal Armor, and a van from which Mainframe coordinated the operation; he had the capacity to override the controls of any of his weapons. The first wave using the Terminal proved fruitless, so Mainframe launched the Dragonflies, which opened fire on Deathlok disregarding any possible collateral damage (such as wounded bystanders). Ryker warned Mainframe against unwanted attention, and Mainframe reacted by sending his weapons, including the Dragonflies, against the news helicopter. Meanwhile, Mainframe took control of Dragonfly Three and used it to ram Deathlok on top of a roller-coaster. Deathlok surprisingly grabbed the plane's bow in flight, until the pilot managed to drop Deathlok in the waters - for the SQ to take care of. The Dragonflies focused their attention in the news chopper, but Deathlok incapacitated the SQ, causing an explosion that launched him against one Dragonfly; from there, he jumped on another one, breaking parts of its hull with his naked (yet cybernetic) hands and forcing it to land in Coney Island, where he got rid of the pilot.

After the skirmish, the police arrested Mainframe, but Deathlok escaped unnoticed, and decided to board the Dragonfly he himself had damaged to go back to Estrella, where he opposed Cybertek's and Roxxon's interests. He then piloted the Dragonfly to Paterson so as to raid Cybertek's facilities. Then, he landed the Dragonfly and hid it under a huge tarpaulin so as to keep it at his HQ near the Coney Island amusement park. For a number of months, Deathlok refitted the Dragonfly, restoring it to optimal condition.

The Dragonfly was ready Deathlok used it next to travel to Paris, France, on another mission. Once there, Deathlok landed and concealed the Dragonfly in the Bois de Boulogne park for later recovery. Deathlok picked up his vehicle (after being ambushed by rival cyborg-turned-ally Coldblood-7) and took it to Kuwait, where his enemy Ryker had unleashed a platoon of ten cyborg super-soldiers Cyberwarriors to destroy the oil fields. Deathlok and Coldblood, onboard the Dragonfly, engaged with the Cyberwarriors, shooting over the waters of the Persian Gulf and, with their ally Siege, made then fly to attack an American military outpost. Deathlok left the Dragonfly to continue the battle on land. After their victory, Coldblood asked Deathlok to take him back to the United States, purportedly using the Dragonfly.

Back in Coney Island, Deathlok was targeted by armored superhuman-hunter Tracer, who found Deathlok's Coney Island hideout and the Dragonfly. Tracer damaged the vehicle, accessing the cockpit and breaking at least several of its monitors. When Deathlok was notified that his wife Tracy was giving birth to their second child in a nearby hospital, he decided to use the Dragonfly to reach the hospital as soon as possible - only to find the vehicle damaged and an ambush. Eventually, Tracer decided to take Deathlok to the hospital.

Not much later, Deathlok came to believe that his former ally Siege was trying to cause a war in Australia and used the Dragonfly to go there and stop him. Finding Siege attacking the Royal Australian Air Force around the Australian Alps, Deathlok rammed Siege with the Dragonfly, damaging the vehicle and forcing it to land; Deathlok then accused Siege of going after non-superhuman soldiers, but Siege countered that he was chasing the soldiers away from a superhuman threat. After this threat, Deathlok returned to the United States on a restored Dragonfly.

Deathlok then saw in the news how human right activist Vincent Cetewayo had been illegally detained by his enemies in the African country Imaya. He immediately ordered his own computer to prepare the Dragonfly to go there - which he did, but not without being detected by the computers of Cable, another superhuman interested in the same operation. Deathlok landed his vehicle in Imaya and advanced on foot just a few hundred meters before getting in a fight and ending up in a war zone. Deathlok associated with War Machine, both chased by the local army, but then Deathlok tricked their chasers by using the Dragonfly's autopilot so they'd think Deathlok and War Machine were trying to escape in the plane. To get rid of the pursuers, Deathlok took the vehicle to international waters, where it was to wait until he called it back. Deathlok decided to leave Imaya soon afterward to avoid participating in an open war, but Cetewayo asked Deathlok to take injured people to medical centers outside the Imayan borders; he accepted, apparently, using the Dragonfly for this transport.

The Dragonfly jet, officially known as Roxxon Aerospace Model RF-311 "Dragonfly", is a low-flight attack airplane designed and built by Cybertek Systems. It is armed with ballistic projectiles that can be shot to man-sized targets on earth and, while it is a manned airplane, it can also be controlled remotely using the servo-technology "Mainframe" developed by Cybertek independent contractor Ian Wajler (a superhuman technopath also called Mainframe). This remote telemetry coupling however can be overridden if one has advanced skills and access to the cockpit.

The Dragonfly is a sturdy vehicle, able to sustain military weapon damage in battle and it can be stored underwater and literally ejected to air by vehicles like Cybertek's SQ1, but it can still be damaged by the superhuman strength of a Deathlok cyborg or by an armored person who has access to a docked Dragonfly.

The Dragonfly also has autopilot capacities, allowing the owner to literally send the vehicle on a path, giving her the initiative to dodge obstacles and enemy attacks using her own artificial intelligence, and then wait until she is called again.

The Dragonfly can perform intercontinental flights, including known trips from Coney Island to Estrella, South America and then to Paterson, New Jersey, at a point when the Dragonfly was damaged and had an exposed cockpit. After a refitting, the Dragonfly flew from Coney Island to Paris, France and from there to Kuwait; another trip from Coney Island to Australia; and another one to Imaya, apparently with minimal fuel expense. It was also fast for short distances, as it was intended to be used to go from Coney Island to a nearby hospital once.

A problem with the Dragonfly was that it was too big and cumbersome for stealth operations, and it was discarded before considering a covert operation in Stark Industries' Los Angeles facility. However, it was relatively easy to keep it covered in Coney Island (where the amusement park provided an excuse for odd-looking items) and once it was concealed in Bois de Boulogne, a public park.
