Doris was Hank Pym's mother, she tried to steer young Hank into field's such as engineering and medicine along with her husband, and stressed concepts and practicality. But Brad's mother and Hank's grandmother Angela Pym was all about imagination and creativity being a former science fiction writer. Doris and her husband, Brad couldn't understand Hank's bizarre behavior and blamed his mother for it, so Hank grew up straddling in both of their worlds.[2]
