History

Derek Bishop is the patriarch of a wealthy Manhattanite family. He married Eleanor Bishop and the pair had two daughters, Susan and Katherine.

Eleanor died while visiting Boulder, Colorado, leaving Derek to raise his daughters. Derek seems to have immersed himself in his business and philanthropies, and grew somewhat distant from his daughters.

He eventually remarried, this time to a much younger woman, Heather. This new marriage seems to have added extra strain to his relationships with his daughters.
