- Darfar was created by Robert E. Howard, and was mentioned in "Hawks Over Shem", "Shadows in Zamboula", and "Conan the Buccaneer".[1]
- Robert E. Howard's Darfar's name was inspired the Sudanese region of Darfur,[5] though no reference to a connection between both has been made so far in Marvel Comics' books and magazines.
