Synopsis for "If I Should Die...!"
Cyclops and Beast fight the Grotesk while the others are ordered by the Professor to remain in the mansion. Grotesk feels another man-made earthquake and leaves our heroes to go and investigate. Cyclops and Beast rejoin the others at the mansion, meanwhile the Grotesk breaks into the room with the device. Professor X has been using it as a lure, and psionically calls his students to him. The Grotesk gets the machine running to create a quake that will destroy the world despite Professor X's interference, and then the X-Men arrive. The X-Men hold off Grotesk while Professor X and Jean mentally disable the device, but at the last moment Grotesk gets through and mortally injures the professor!

Synopsis for "The End... or the Beginning?"
The continuing origin of Cyclops. Professor X and Cyclops confront the Living Diamond, stunning him, allowing Professor X access to a nearby building. The Living Diamond follows them in, and is about to attack Professor X when Scott activates a machine that ends up destroying the Living Diamond unintentionally. Scott joins Professor X at his School for Gifted Youngsters.
