Synopsis for "Mr. Fixit Comes To Town"
The issue opens in Tahoe, Nevada as an unnamed American crime-lord speaks with Mr. Fixit (aka The Hulk). The two discuss a mutual friend, Michael Berengetti, and Mr. Fixit's hiring for a task that needs done. The crime-lord tells Fixit about a business partner in the Far East whose current situation is questionable. It turns out that this partner in the Far East is in fact General Coy. Fixit is hired to go to Madripoor and set things straight.
Back at the Royal Palace in Madripoor, Prince Baran and his men are about to take Wolverine and the others prisoner when the Prince recognizes the television and movie celebrity Lindsay McCabe among them. Taken over by excitement and disbelief the Prince suddenly turns into a friendly host and begins bombarding McCabe with questions. Cautiously, Wolverine and Jessica Drew play along while General Coy rants and raves in disbelief. Later that night, Tyger paces about her room restlessly considering an escape plan but hesitant to do so given the fact that to her knowledge only McCabe knows how to remove the suit of armor she's encased in. Suddenly, Wolverine catches her and drags her up onto the roof. With a slight of hand, the suit's mask is removed and Tyger is revealed.
Wolverine then attempts to persuade Tyger to accept the deal which the Prince is pushing onto both her and General Coy. The Prince recognizes that Tyger refuses to take part in the illegal drugs and slave trade portion of the criminal underworld but cannot allow a vacuum to be forever existent in these activities - if no one were take control of those operations Madripoor would be in a constant state of gang-warfare. On the other hand, if Coy were to take over completely he would no doubt pose a powerful threat to the throne. To introduce a system of checks and balances the Prince suggests that both General Coy and Tyger co-exist with one another, each controlling their own separate rackets and operations.
Later inside the Palace, Coy and Tyger agree to the Prince's terms and are then escorted back to their respective homes by the guards. Afterwords, Lindsay McCabe and the rest are led to a room filled with television and movie memorabilia from all of McCabe's work. Turns out that the Prince is more than just a casual fan. McCabe finds herself flattered and yet creeped out but enjoys the time she spends reliving her celebrity past.
At the Sovereign Hotel in Hightown, Madripoor a very distressed General Coy trashes his room in anger at the Prince's lack of complete support and the fact that he now knows of Mr. Fixit's inevitable arrival. In her room, Karma begins to get undressed when a drunken Roughouse barges through the door looking for fun. In the nick of time, Wolverine appears and knocks Roughouse unconscious. Karma then informs Wolverine about Fixit and how the burning of the Opium farm led to Fixit's hiring in the first place. Karma expresses her concern that if General Coy is killed or taken then her only hope to find her kidnapped brother and sister is lost.
Back in the USA, Mr. Fixit makes his way to LAX Airport. Along the way his limo driver is assaulted at a gas station by young bikers. Fixit teaches the kids a lesson by destroying their bikes and beating up the leader of the crew. Leaving his limo behind and stealing one of the kid's bikes, Fixit arrives at the airport - turning heads and sparking rumors and whispered voices as he goes. When he arrives in Madripoor he's ambushed by what are assumed to be General Coy's men. An onlooking Wolverine eventually gets involved and ends up driving Fixit to his hotel. Curious about the big guy's incredible need to make it to the hotel before sunrise, Wolverine sneaks into Fixit's room to find the tiny body of Bruce Banner lying the bed - covered up by what were Fixit's gigantic clothes.
