Synopsis for "Bloodsport"

This issue opens with the death and followed by the discovery of Lord Ranjamaryam's body - Chancellor to the Prince of Madripoor. Overhearing the radio call to Police Chief Tai - Wolverine appears at the scene and with the Chief's permission examines the body. After finding no clues, Wolverine speculates the murder with Tai coming to the conclusion that the Chancellor had been killed by an unknown criminal organization. It was known that the Chancellor favored the existing crimelord Tyger and had planned to convince the Prince to officially recognize the organization. With Ranjamaryan's scent, Wolverine then heads out to carry out an investigation of his own.

Meanwhile, we're taken to the South Seas Skyway where two men: Roughouse and Bloodsport threaten the life of the proprietor - Archibald Corrigan. The two demand that Corrigan stop flying for Tyger and begin to exclusively work for their own boss - General Coy. Having no other choice, Corrigan accepts the deal and the two leave.

Making his way into Hightown following Ranjamaryam's scent, Wolverine breaks into a suite at the Sovereign Hotel where he finds Karma (Xi'an Coy Manh) - a fellow mutant. After learning that the suite belongs to General Coy, her uncle, Wolverine leaves the suite with a warning to the woman stating that he may not know if the Chancellor's death was her responsibility or not but she better choose a side and quickly.

The next day, Jessica Drew and Lindsay McCabe are walking around the central bazaar in Lowtown when they encounter Roughouse and Bloodsport. Not taking to Roughouse's jokes and advances, Drew threatens him but the standoff is suddenly interrupted when a woman cries out behind them. Investigating, the two discover a woman nearly bled to death. Drew tells McCabe to stay with the woman while she attempts to find out where she came from. Scaling the buildings with what powers she has left, Drew eventually comes to a door which she breaks down. Entering the building, she discovers a pile of dead bodies, all drained of blood, and upon a wall the words "The Tyger is Dead". Later, it's mentioned that this was one of Tyger's major "banks".

Drew, McCabe, and Wolverine all meet up later that night at the Princess Bar. While discussing the coming gang-war and the inevitable downfall of Tyger the crime-lord herself shows up. After a brief meeting, Tyger asks Wolverine to escort her to the palace - having been summoned by the Prince. En route to the palace Wolverine and Tyger are attacked by Roughouse and Bloodsport. Roughouse destroys the car in one punch and then goes about beating Wolverine into a pulp. Meanwhile Tyger is seized by Bloodsport who then proceeds to drain her of blood. In the nick of time Karma appears and stops the two enemies for a brief moment - allowing Wolverine to escape with an unconscious, drained, but alive Tyger.

Putting Tyger into the care of McCabe and Drew - Wolverine travels to South Seas Skyways looking to ask a favor from Corrigan. Corrigan at first refuses, threatening Wolverine with a shotgun but he eventually gives in.

The issue closes with a morning breakfast between General Coy and Karma where Coy talks about his eventual rise to power and how he gained the support of the Prince. When Bloodsport and Roughouse arrive to tell Coy of how Wolverine and Tyger escaped, and how Wolverine has just taken off from South Seas Skyway, Coy stresses the need to make sure wherever Wolverine is going there's an appropriate "welcoming party". The three then leave the table to discuss how to dismantle the rest of Tyger's organization.
