Synopsis for "Possession Is The Law"

The issue opens with Lindsay McCabe walking into a bar in Lowtown, Madripoor. After being saved from a few rough looking patrons by Wolverine (referred to in this issue as "Patch") the two make small talk with the bartender until Wolverine makes his way upstairs. Learning that the contact scheduled to meet with Jessica Drew here was the workings of the a set up, Wolverine prepares himself to find trouble and possibly the deceased body of Drew. However, instead of Drew, he finds the bodies of henchmen no doubt hired by the Cult of the Black Blade. Moments later Wolverine is attacked by the Silver Samurai. Unable to reveal his identity as the famous clawed mutant, Wolverine attempts to fight the Samurai on even terms - almost leading to his death. Just before the Silver Samurai can strike the killing blow a black leather clad Jessica Drew attacks the Samurai - possessed by the Muramasa Sword.

Claiming that Jessica Drew is dead, the wielder of the Muramasa Sword attacks both Wolverine and the Silver Samurai relentlessly - eventually causing the building to collapse. As the Silver Samurai is left behind with Lindsay McCabe in the rubble, Wolverine gives chase to the possessed Drew. Finally, atop a building, Wolverine grabs a hold of the sword and wrenches it from Drew's hand - causing her to be knocked unconscious and change back into her normal self. Unfortunately though, as Wolverine held the sword it had just enough time to take over him. The issue ends with the Silver Samurai and McCabe looking upwards at a possessed Wolverine clutching the body of Drew stating that with the sacrifice of the woman - the bond between the Muramasa Sword and Logan would be unbreakable.
