History
Coconut Grove is a planet where the culture resembles an ultra-stereotypical night club scene. Since the Coconut Grove people evolved to a stagnation point, not having a mutant manifestation in over a million years, they sent Ariel to Earth to collect examples of human mutants so that Coconut Grove's people could study them.
Ariel succeeded in forming the Fallen Angels, a group of young mutants that were runaways and thieves, and convinced the group that they were under attack and teleported them to Coconut Grove, where she presented them to her people and Unipar, her leader, only to learn that Ariel, herself, was a mutant and was captured as well.
After experimenting on Boom-Boom, the Fallen Angels worked together and escaped. Upon leaving, Ariel convinced Unipar that to continue battle was useless, as it would be a Pyrrhic victory, and used an enhanced Sunspot and Devil Dinosaur to threatened him and his soldiers. Unipar then begged Ariel to stay to save his species, but she declined.

Genetic settings[]
Ariel stated that her X-Men membership was on her double helix, meaning her mutation, but it is unknown if it was an expression mimicked on human genetics, or if the genetics settings of the Coconut Grove's people are indeed in a double helix form.[1]
Mutation[]
While the Coconut Grove people were thought to have evolved to a stagnation point, and were looking for mutants to study, it was revealed that Ariel was herself a mutant, possessing a superhuman persuasion vocal power, shared by other members of her family, including the other Ariel.[2] That mutation is consequently seemingly hereditary.

The only known mutant power is Ariel's superhuman vocal persuasion, believed to be possessed as well by other members of her family, including the other Ariel.[2]
Teleportation[]
The Coconut Grove people can teleport, allegedly without the use of any powers. They can warp space-time around two closed doors, bending the space to briefly connect the two when opening them, they can then walk through a door at their starting point and walk through a different door even if they are at interplanetary distances.
Those powers aren't based on a mutant or mutate state, but come from a specific use of physical knowledge and seem available to all her race, and even to other species, allegedly possible for anyone with "the right kind of hands and a good grounding in subjective physics".[3]Residents
