History

Charity Brown was a young puritan woman living in Salem, Massachusetts, in the late seventeenth century. She found herself entranced by dreams of Count Dracula, who was seeking a pure, innocent bride to add to his harem, and willingly accepted him.

She was seen dancing sensually in the forest by her guardian, Goodman Alden, who attempted to assault her. She fought him off and escaped, and in revenge, he accused her of witchcraft. Because Dracula had placed his mark upon her, she was found guilty and sentenced to death. Dracula arrived in America to claim her, but came too late to prevent her hanging. In revenge, he killed Alden and cursed the town.
