Should individuals be categorized under Marvel Staff or under their profession?[]

For example, should Category:Jack Kirby/Cover Artist be categorized under Category:Artists or under Category:Marvel Staff? --Brian Kurtz 14:28, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

IMO we should remove the /Cover Artist part, and have a category Jack Kirby (or whoever else), and not make it unnecessary complex. See also my remarks on this in the comic template discussion.

We should probably do to the sub-categories here what was done for Appearances - make appropriate sub-categories to group like things. I think separating them by type of work done makes perfect sense though. And it doesn't really matter if each type of work they did generates a separate page - that's all data that shouldn't just be thrown away. --Squirrelloid 21:40, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
It's not thrown away, it's there when you click on the comic. Now you just get multiple entries if a person writes, draws and inks the same comic. And you see that person three times in the categories list.

Yes, but there is no way to 'count' how many stan lee has 'drawn' as opposed to how many he was 'written'. You would have to go into each comic and count manually.
There is definitely some 'data loss'.

Don't forget about the profile pages. The "Created by" should automatically link to the creator's page, which should then be a hub for all of that creator's creations.
