Section Templates are used to 'hide' dynamic information contained on a static (layout) page. Such as the Main Page.

This information hiding not only allows less frequent changes to the Main Page (et al) to prevent mistakes, but also allows multiple editors to work on various sections of the page all at once.

These templates should be reviewed carefully before being altered as they are often found on protected, high-visibility pages.
