Cassandra is the daughter of Scott Lang and joined S.H.I.E.L.D. along with her father. While her father became the main Giant-Man, she became the leader of the Reserves' Giant-Women Brigade. Ever since she joined up with the Reserves and took on the name "Giant-Woman", Cassandra has been helping to fight off Hydra's terrorist forces in the battle for Wyoming.[2]

She was eventually mind-controlled by Thor's son, Modi, due to the effects of the Mind Gem and forced to attack her own team, as well as firing a bullet at the Helicarrier. While under mind control, Cassandra even attacked the new Spider-Man in a furious attempt to kill him, but he managed to knock her unconscious.[3]

A S.H.I.E.L.D. camp had to be armed in Wyoming surrounding her in order to attend to the fractures she had sustained during the battle, since she couldn't be returned to her normal size in the current condition she was in. S.H.I.E.L.D. director Monica Chang offered her an opportunity to be part of a new Ultimates team, which she gladly accepted.[4]

Howling Commandos

After the Dark Ultimates launched a massive global attack, seemingly conquering Earth, Nick Fury recruited Cassie into his new Black Ops Unit, the Howling Commandos.[5]

The Howling Commandos made their way to the Maker's base, the Aleph-One, where they assisted the Ultimates in the Dark Ultimates' defeat.[6]

Powers

Cassandra acquired her abilities through exposure to the Giant-Man Serum, gaining the power to increase her size. Giant-Woman possesses the power to increase her size to gigantic heights, requiring the rapid acquisition of body mass.

This extra mass fortifies all of her cellular tissue, including her bones and muscles, enabling her to support her increased weight and giving her superhuman strength and durability. Also, while giant size; Giant-Woman heals at a faster rate than a normal human normally would heal.

For example; an injury that would take weeks if not months to heal, instead only take a few days.
