Synopsis for "Fighting Side by Side with Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos"

This is a retelling of the story from Sgt. Fury #13, presenting the first meeting between these WW II legends from Cap and Bucky's point of view rather than Fury's. There are several panel similarities (with much great Kirbyesque art!) and some story alterations. Begins with Cap and Bucky "Somewhere along the northern coastline of France), where Nazis have been massing. They come upon the use of slave labor to build a tunnel under the channel. Bucky infiltrates the operation disguised as a member the the HJ (Hitler Youth). Cap, posing as a civilian "captive," links up with Fury and Co. to take down the operation.

Synopsis for "Man of Straw"

The USAgent, unsure about whether Left-Winger and Right-Winger are dead or alive, exhumes Left-Winger, while reminiscing the situation that led him to that moment: The USAgent remembered fighting and defeating both Wingers, leaving them to burn; then finding them again as revived enemies in Immortus' Legion of Unliving. The USAgent then checked at the hospital, and the doctor told him that the Wingers had committed suicide, as the damage USAgent had cause would take them to a lifetime of torture. Looking for closure, the USAgent confesses to a scarecrow, in an attempt to expiate. Failing to get a satisfying signal, the USAgent decides to stop using "straw men" as a target of his rage.

Synopsis for "Bad to the Bone"

Castle Zola, in Switzerland, is harassed by a trio of mercenaries, just after Zola has finished transferring the Red Skull's mind to Captain America's cloned body. The castle's defenses, including Zola's non-humanoid servant Doughboy, take care of all the intruders. Monitoring the situation, the Red Skull shows interests on one of the interlopers, and Zola keeps that one man, and one other, alive for questioning. The Red Skull executes one of the prisoner for claiming that the Red Skull sent them. He then fights the other one, as a test for his new body. The Red Skull wins the fight and, deciding to change his usual MO, recruits the stranger as his right-hand man, giving him the name Crossbones. Crossbones admits that the man he had been working for had claimed to be the Red Skull, but was likely an impostor, as the man in front of him had a much more intimidating stare.
