History

Camp X-Factor is a United States military compound located in the country of Cuba. In the early 21st century, Magneto abducted the daughter of American President George W. Bush causing Senator Turk and scientist Bolivar Trask to initiate the Sentinel program. Anti-mutant hysteria gripped the country, and military forces gathered up random mutants and isolated them at Camp X-Factor. Shortly after Magneto's destruction of the Brooklyn Bridge, rumors began to circulate that the sentries stationed at the compound were mistreating their mutant prisoners and allegations of severe physical abuse began to circulate throughout the media.

Trivia

  • Camp X-Factor is analogous to the real-world detention facility "Camp X-Ray", located in the military base located in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. In 2002, Guantánamo Bay (often referred to simply as Gitmo) became the subject of a nationwide scandal when stories emerged claiming that prisoners were denied their civil rights as guaranteed by the Geneva Convention.
